More challenging repertoire, mastery of basic music rudiments, part-singing, and dramatic character development are key areas of focus of the Intermediate Chorus (IC). Young people explore singing in languages other than English from a wide variety of genres and styles.
The Intermediate Chorus performs in our fall all-choir concert, takes the lead in the junior division opera each season, and also performs as the chorus in the mainstage opera.
Training provided in the Intermediate Chorus is fundamental to preparing young singers for the Principal Chorus, the CCOC’s main performing chorus, which IC choristers will graduate into when ready.
